Sport Rehabilitation Hayle

Introduction

At Sport Rehabilitation Hayle, I use a holistic approach to injury rehabilitation. As part of my method I combine Sports Massage, Remedial Massage, I.A.S.T.M. and Aromatherapy, in my Sport Rehabilitation treatments.

What is Sports & Remedial Massage?

Sports Massage and Remedial Massage, style of bodywork usually comes as a welcome relief to clients who have previously experienced massage, which was either superficial and underwhelming or unpleasantly painful.

Remedial Massage soothes the nervous system, while Sports Massage gently wakes it up again. During Sports Massage your therapist will focus on areas of hypersensitivity and restriction. Alternating techniques of Sports and Remedial Massage also decreases muscle spasms and can increase range of motion. With the addition of “Muscle Energy Techniques” (M.E.T.’s) Sports and Remedial Massage can improve the flexibility of joints, reduce muscle spasms, and alleviate pain.

Remedial Massage in general is thought to encourage the body to heal, increase lymph flow and detoxify. Essential oils combined with Sports and Remedial Massage, intensifies this process. It is a rehabilitation process that is both enjoyable and potent.

What is Aromatherapy?

Aromatherapy works on different levels, including the sense of smell, and through absorption via skin. During aromatherapy massage the tiny molecules in the Essential Oils penetrate through the skin. The molecules travel through the epidermis (the top layer of skin) reaching the dermis (a deeper layer of skin) and to the blood vessels allowing them to circulate through to all body areas; for example, the liver, kidneys and some muscle groups.

Physiological & Psychological Benefits of Aromatherapy:

The Essential Oils we use at Sport Rehabilitation Hayle, are therapeutic grade, they have similar, and effective, pain-relieving properties that are present in pharmaceutical analgesics. However, Essential Oils have fewer side effects than many modern drugs and they also help to reduce stress and make you feel more relaxed. Here at Sport Rehabilitation Hayle, we utilise Essential Oils for effective pain management and in treating many inflammatory conditions. Essential oils are excellent remedies to treat the pain associated with arthritis, low-backpain, migraines, fibromyalgia, nerve pain or sciatica. Essential Oils will probably make you feel, nurtured, deeply relaxed, with an “afterglow”. For an appointment, go to the “BOOK NOW” page, and choose a convenient time.
